Everything is an organisation

In this book, the organisation is you: a team of competing motives, and your tasks and habits are the agreements that keep that team working together.

Inside the book

D1 · Discovery

See what you actually do

Log your tasks and habits for a week instead of trusting memory. Most of us overestimate how consistent we are, and the log shows where the day really goes.

D2 · Dream

Picture a good week

Start from what already works. Describe a week when you felt on top of things and name the habits that made it possible.

D3 · Design

Make the good habit the easy one

Quick, effortless rewards pull harder than slow ones. That is how motivation works, not a character flaw. Put the first step of each habit in Todoist with a time and a reminder, so the cue arrives before the distraction does.

D4 · Defend

Keep it going

Review weekly. Let a Habit Tracker streak be the small, immediate reward for a slow, distant one. When you slip, adjust the system, not your self-worth.

Finish with a plan

The book closes by setting up a Todoist project called Organise Tasks and Habits, with a section for each D and the Habit Tracker integration switched on.

This is my Todoist affiliate link. If you're new to Todoist, I'd really appreciate you signing up through this link rather than going to Todoist directly. It costs you nothing extra, I may earn a small commission, and it helps me keep creating these books and courses. Thank you.
